We’ve used Accokeek Fence & Deck (formerly Accokeek Fence Company) for fence repairs and replacement since 1987. Our house came with a chain link fence which we had them replace portions of and then repair a couple of times after trees fell on them. In 2021, we had them replace the chain link with a six-foot wood privacy fence. A neighbor’s tree destroyed a section of the new fence last winter, and Accokeek responded quickly and had it repaired within three days. Recently, they came out and replaced a fence post and gate latch that were damaged by another contractor. They are always responsive and provide accurate information regarding the costs and timeline. They do excellent work.

Great Experience! Accokeek installed my 6' wooden fence in 2004. I had gotten several estimates and they were considerably lower than the competition which made me a bit skeptical about long-term quality, but as I said it's been almost 20 years! Over the years I've had them out a couple times to add additional fencing and always been very happy with price/quality/service.
A few months back I noticed some places where my fence was sagging. I did some research on The Googler and learned that the average lifespan for my type of fence is 15-20 years, so fearing the worst (a whole new fence) I called Accokeek and was delighted to learn that all I needed was replacement of a few posts. Phew!! Their crew came out yesterday and did an excellent job, they even managed not to break the dog fence wire running along the top of the fence which I forgot to tell them about :). Highly Recommend!

We had an excellent experience with Accokeek and their professionalism, work quality, and timeliness exceeded my expectations. Ed, Debbie, Marvin, Ovidio, Fernando, and the entire install team were wonderful to work with.

First, they were quick to send an estimator out and managed my expectations for delays with DC permit approval given the COVID-19 pandemic. I was pleasantly surprised when they got the permit turned around in just a few days. We got the work scheduled well under my estimated timeframe.

Next, their crew was prompt, professional, and consultative. When a special screen design I ordered did not fit just right, the crew leader suggested installing a brace to stabilize it. He acknowledged this should have been something they took into account, so he returned to install it without extra charge and ensure fit and function met my needs. Finally, when I realized that I wanted wooden borders installed along the base of the fence but hadn't built it into the contract, Ed was able to work out a very reasonable install as an add-on project. His team came out quickly, installed to desire, and we are very happy with the end product.

I'm can't speak to others' past negative experiences, but I know Ed and his team did everything we hoped for in terms of accommodating our requests, being flexible, focusing on customer service, and rectifying any minor bumps along the way. It's hard to find that kind of professionalism these days. I would work with Accokeek again in a heartbeat and recommend others give them a chance!

I am a residential landscape designer who has worked with a number of fencing companies in the last 18 years. My clients and I are very happy with the three fences that Accokeek has constructed for us so far this year, all different styes. There are many details that go into making a fence look great, and Accokeek's sales rep Robert is terrific at explaining options. If it's a complicated fencing project like both of those pictured, you or your landscape designer need to be present at the beginning of the installation to ensure that the crew who comes to install is clear about those many details, because the rep isn't on site during installation. But Accokeek has skilled installers, good materials, and a fair price. Highly recommend.

Accokeek just created a beautiful small fenced area to hide the garbage cans, AC and garden equipment. Our experience was first rate, from start to finish, very professional all around. We would certainly recommend them without reservation.

We had a great experience with Accokeek Fence from the first phone call the completion of the job. Ed is the owner and he was accesable whenever I had a question. They came out and asked us what we wanted and then gave us several options with quotes. The wood fence was built on site. The fence was beautiful I know it will increase the value of our house and will last forever. They came out with a crew of seven men, 2 trucks and equipment, they removed two tree stumps that were in the way of the fence installation for no extra charge. A very professional experience. They left me several extra fence slats. I highly recommend them.

Good communication. Showed up promptly and finished work efficiently. They did a great job. Would hire again. Total length of fence removed was somewhere in the ballpark of 75 ft. Posts were cut off below ground level and dirt filled on top.

Couldn't have been better! They were very responsive; showed up on time; cleaned up and were very considerate that we have two dogs so promised that they would not leave any fencing down in the evening but just remove and replace what they were able to in one day. Additionally, I had some question afterwards about one wood slat as well as some space left on a small portion due to the unevenness of the ground. They came back the week I called and replaced the slat and put in a wood border along the bottom with no additional charge. Jay, who I dealt with, could not have been more pleasant and made some excellent suggestions that helped save us some money as well! The customized large wood and metal gate was actually the most expensive but splitting both sides with neighbors brought the rest of the cost down.

Very responsive and easy to work with. We had another contractor working in our house for several months and they would leave the back gate open to blow in the wind. By the end it was destroyed but Jay requested photos, provided a quote that same day and fixed it the next week. We are very happy with the new cedar gate.

Accokeek was a pleasure to deal with. From getting a conceptual quote over the phone from Ed to setting up the site visit with John. John came out and gave me a quote on the spot. They were in line with other quotes I received and I thought the workmanship on the pictures on their website was superior. I had my install scheduled at the beginning of 3 straight weeks of rain. Ed was great to keep in touch and reschedule a couple times. When the rain finally broke, they were out the next morning. Kenny was the onsite supervisor and was fantastic. His initial walkthrough with me put my mind at ease that he was a professional and was very detail oriented. His crew were all great and treated my property like it was their own. The finished product looks amazing and the experience with all their employees was top notch. Save yourself some time and just hire them - it is worth it.

High winds last month brought our 200 year-old tulip poplar down and the 7-foot custom wrought iron fence with it. They picked up the remains of the 2 panels on a Saturday, fabricated the replacement panels the next Tuesday (rush job, as we are repeat customers) and had everything back in place the next day. The estimator found a relatively easy fix for us for our fence problem and then noted other areas around the property that needed work. I was glad to have them perform the work, even though it didn't involve fencing.

They were excellent. Actually, I had them do work for me before. Home Depot had a deliver on my neighbor’s property and broke two of my fence’s post. They had to pay for this thing. It was $375 but that was what I had to get and find somebody to do the repair. They were quick, efficient, and did what I needed. They are five stars. I have had them before so I have really had selected somebody I knew was great.

About 4 years ago, we had Accokeek Fence Co. partially enclose our back yard with chain link fence and part of our front yard with split rail fence. Both fences have held up very well and so, when the deer problem got so bad recently that we decided to totally enclose our back yard, we called Accokeek again. We were not disappointed. Danielo and his crew arrived at our house at the appointed time, quickly set up their supplies and equipment and began work. Although we had done some preliminary work clearing the new fence line, the crew completed the clearing far faster than we had expected and installed the fence exactly as requested.

I recommended Accokeek Fence to one of my neighbors who wanted to exclude deer from their yard. After considerable research, they chose Accokeek and afterward expressed to me their complete satisfaction. I was very pleased with the complete transaction, from setting up the estimator's appointment to job completion. Everyone at Accokeek was polite, timely and professional. I decided we needed a real fence for my dogs to stay over at grandma's for daycare. The guys at Accokeek Fence were fantastic. They were able to quickly schedule the initial consultation/quote appointment and did not try to over sell me. We had another fence company refuse to do the work because it was "too small a job" and another who refused to give us all the options Accoteek did. A couple of things they did that set them apart. 1) they immediately understood the purpose of the small section of fence (to keep two small corgis in play area with an easy open gate for my grandmother ) 2) that I was on a very small budget and 3) that I was paying for the fence and arranging it but that the work was to be done at my grandmothers home. The fence was needed because I work extremely long hours and paying for dog daycare every day was not an option. As such they allowed me to have my grandmother pick up the fence permit on her own to speed up the process and allowed me to drop off the payment on a Friday afternoon instead of having to wait to have someone come pick up the payment so work could start the following Monday. I was so impressed by their customer service we decided to opt for a slightly fancier fence #6 Pressure Treated Flatboard Fence with Lattice instead of the plan design we originally thought we wanted. My grandmother said they performed the work in the time promised and did a fantastic job cleaning up the site after they were done so the yard was immediately ready for the pets to play in without any fear of sharp edges, nails, wood chips etc. Apparently they went above and beyond and spent a good deal of their time showing my grandmother how to operate the gravity latch I selected which was definitely not something most people would have had the patience for for as small a job as our little 20 ft of fence was. To make a long story short, over a year on and the fence still looks fantastic and is functioning perfectly. I will definitely use them to replace the rest of the fence when my budget and grandmother allows me to.

Accokeek did an amazing job. The turn around time from the time after the contract was set was really quick. They came out in 2 weeks. What was amazing is that they had called and asked if we wanted an earlier appointment. Great quality work is provided as well. Ember and Carlos did an amazing job. If we decide to have more work done. I would recommend them two to come back. Again, great stuff.

We had a wooden fence installed in our back yard by Accokeek and we're very happy with the work they did. From the beginning, the salesman was prompt and courteous and came back with our quote very quickly. The office staff was easy to deal with and communicative. The guys putting the fence in were also very communicative and conscious of our sprinkler system and plants. The guy in charge made sure to let us know right away of any issues he saw. We had anticipated losing some plants and possibly having to have the sprinklers repaired but were pleasantly surprised to have everything in tact when they were done. They also finished the job by 3:00 the same day.

Accokeek Fence provided the best price and service - they finished a fairly big fencing of our lot with a 6 ft stockade fence in one day - they sent out 2 trucks, 4 guys and the job was done very well in one day. They also did the job at the best price. I would highly recommend them!

Accokeek is truly, and in all ways, a phenomenal company. From start to finish, they were a pleasure to work with. They showed up on time, worked nonstop, were meticulous in their attention to detail, and were respectful of our property. They cleaned up after themselves and left us with a gorgeous addition to our home...this fence adds tremendous value and curb appeal. When we encountered a small problem with a broken sprinkler line, they worked with us to resolve it quickly and professionally. I would unhesitatingly recommend this company to anyone, and I will definitely be using them in the future (although from the quality of this fence, I won't need to anytime soon!)

Good company! Hire them! The workmanship on my side of the fence is great and my neighbors fencing and gates are very well done. I also had a friend who hired Accokeek 2 weeks ago to install a fence on her property and it looks great too. I know she is very happy, so is my neighbor and I'm happy, we're all happy. My friend is not a member of Angie's list and I don't think my neighbor is either but I always love to comment when a company has done a good job so thought I would throw it in. The price reflects only my side of the fence.

It was only 21'6" long but the fence between us and our neighbor should have been replaced more than a decade ago before we bought the house. We can only hope that the saying that "good fences make good neighbors" because we had a terrible fence and neighbor to match. Now we have a beautiful new cedar fence for less than another well-known company quoted in treated pine. The crew turned up when they said they wood, verified with me exactly what was required and set straight to work. I left before they finished but when I came home I was very impressed by what they had done and that they had cleaned up nicely afterwards.

This is a great company! The sales rep came out three times to help figure out how to best keep the dog from climbing the fence without having to replace it and keeping the nice open look of the split rail. He had several suggestions, always keeping price in mind. He came out immediately (same day) and then stopped by a second time to show me what he had in mind. It was clear he had taken the problem back to the office and discussed it to get ideas. The workers showed up the next day (it was really, really cold), they worked quickly, did a great job, added some extra support at the top of the fence that would keep it from sagging (that we hadn't talked about). But, that wasn't enough to keep the dog in. I called the next day and asked them to put in a stockade fence (+/- $6000). The owner came up with an overhang idea for $600 (his cost), came out that very day with a prototype, took pictures, went back to the office, emailed me the pictures, got approval to procede, and did the work without me there to pay them. All of this was done within six hours of my call! His solution was ingenious, effective, and not visible from the street. This company could have sold me a $6000 fence with me not having any idea how many other less expensive options there were and I would have been happy. As it turns out, they came up with a solution for nearly a third the price. I will never hesitate to use this company again and I will tell anyone who even looks like they need a new fence about my great experience with Accokeek Fence!

The fence panels they fixed look so nice that I now want them to replace the two panels that were not damaged, just so they'll all look as perfect.

Accokeek did a great job with the initial installation of a fence and gate at the side of our property. After several months, some normal settling had taken place, so we called Accokeek to see about getting things back in order, which they did very promptly, and at no cost as the fence/gate was still under warranty. The team that came for this was very polite, gave us advance notice of arrival, and finished the job quickly. It's always amazing to see what nice things well-trained and well-equipped professionals, such as Accokeek's, can do - and do so quickly! And as before, it was a pleasure to deal with the very responsive "front office".

Kenny and his team were outstanding! This is, by far, the best experience I've had with a contractor (of any type) since I moved to Virginia in 2004. This company built both a back and front fence for me under the rules of a homeowner's association. Not only did they build a beautiful fence, they cleaned up everything and provided nice finishing touches (which were not in estimate but I paid no more for them).

I had ordered the whole fence to be built in PT pine and the wood was pre-cut and delivered to the house the day of the job. Kenny (foreman) took one look at the design of the fence and sent the truck back to have them cut all new wood in cedar because the pine wouldn't work. This cost his team time and they worked into the night without charging me extra (for my mistake)! I would recommend them to anyone.

Jay, estimator person, very professional and knowledgeable, gave excellent advice & came exactly when scheduled. Work down exactly on time. Foreman also very professional, thoroughly consulted us before work started, gave excellent advice about details of construction that did not increase price. Foreman here the whole time carefully overseeing work. Crew carefully stepped around flowers in beds adjoining fence all day. Fence only 6 hours old, however, workmanship and materials appear first rate. Really beautiful fence! A little cheaper than other Checkbook high rated company. Completely satisfied thus far. Recommend highly.

They arrived on schedule with enough crew members to finish the job as estimated. The foreman paid attention to every detail and consulted us on all decisions. Knowing that we were fencing in the yard to contain our dog, he made certain that there were no areas where the dog could possibly get out. I got bids from a few other companies, and Accokeek not only built me a wonderful fence but did it in cedar with a steel frame on the gate at the end of the yard for less money than other companies were bidding.
